When it is winter here in Australia, I crave for soups. Any soup. Whether it be similar to the steaming bowls of my childhood kitchen or the ones Rich cook to make our lives warmer and better.
Here are some of my favourite:
The classic chicken soup. I like it poured on top of angel hair noodles.
Nilaga. So Pinoy. It can be beef, pork, chicken or seafood.

Arroz caldo. Filipino rice soup, with a Spanish name and taste of a Chinese Congee. |
Vietnamese Pho - Pho (pronounced fah) is a light, fragrant soup eaten for breakfast and all through the day. It is a most loved dish by the Vietnamese. The secret lies in the quality of the stock. Combination of marrow bone, oxtail, brisket and a boiler chicken along with cinnamon, star anise and cardamom pods. It is so fiddly to make so we just go to Footscray Restaurants for this comfort food. (I once read that in a 5 Star Hotel in Manila, they have an elderly Vietnamese Lady who came in at 5 am everyday just to make this soup.)

Wonton Soup - Rich always order this soup when we eat out.
That's all for now,
Take a bow, Sabaw. ♨
