Ladies Who Lunch♥

I love lunches with friends and yesterday was a great bonding time with my Yaya Sisterhood. :-) Nonku, Nicole and Kaylynn.

First we met under the clocks at Flinders Street Station! So Melby! ♥

By the clocks!
I was on time but the girls were already waiting for me. I sneaked in from behind and startled them. They did not even flinch! This Americans☺! I love them♥.

I related how on the way to meet them, this man stopped me with "My wife wants to talk to you" with thick English accent. I work in the city and the first thing that comes to mind was: "oh, oh - here we go again". I have seen a lot in the CBD so it does not faze me as much now. But this man looked clean so I said: "Where's your wife?"

He pointed to a little group of people not far behind. I thought: oh dear this man ran all the way from there to me? Why? I was smiling the whole time - if they want to be crazy with me - I can be crazier.

But it turned out they were legit tourists. Whew! The wife used to have a similar pair of boots I was wearing and said: "go catch her, ask her where she got them!"

Go catch me? Man. What were they thinking! :-)

I walked towards them. I do have a big brolly☂ so I guess I can protect myself just in case.

The boots that stopped the nation :-)

The wife was too embarrassed to ask at first but I was smiling remember? And as tourists WE ask and it shall be given. I told them to go to South Wharf  DFO, it is an outlet hub with big brands on sale. They waved bye and told me I should get commission from Doc Martens. Maybe I should, they were not the first one to ask. The other times it was for my olive pair. Oh well. I love this comfortable boots. I can wear them all day with no problem. It is enough commission. :-)

Well, going back to my lunch buddies. We have been planning to do catch-up lunches for a bit now. Finally we were able to set a date. We went to Mesh in Crown Promenade. It was a short scenic walk from behind the Station. I just love Melbourne . This is a place where you just be. No rush to get to certain tourist spots because what really makes you feel good, is being in it. Being a Melburnian is a choice. Rich and I chose to live here in this multi-cultural city and be happy as is.

We admired the view of the bridge and the multi-culturism of the place. The Crown Casino complex is big. We walked around and finally got to the Promenade. We sat a bit in the foyer before going in.

Gorgeous Nonku and Nicole

Aww so pretty in red

Mesh is part of the current $12.95 lunch meal deal at the Crown Casino Complex. It's only for a short time. It was delicious and enjoyable mainly because of the company.

We talked and laughed and cried (wee bit none of that ugly cry). We shared experiences and poignant moments. They ate like birds, I eat like Big Bird. Ha! They are in a no-sugar diet at the moment so no desserts. In September though when they are off it - we will go back to the Conservatory for their desserts!

I love my steak and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. Next time I will order medium-rare.

Slow braised beef cheeks with mash! Kaylynn said it is delicious so I might
try it next time

All good, it is just that the anchovies kinda killed it for Nicole :-)
And for a big Ceasar Salad fan - I do not eat the egg - Rich always eat it for me :-)

We felt so sorry for the wait staff who kept on dropping her tray.
Breads went everywhere then water bottles then wine glasses breaking.
Poor thing so I asked her to take a photo in the middle of it all. That way she
forgets the crashin. I assured her she can drop my phone and I will even say Thanks.

After our lunch we walked to the loo and guess what? Toilet selfie is fun! Apparently it is de rigueur atm. :-) The toilets in Crown Casino are clean and smells like berries. I am serious. Berries. It was also empty so Kaylynn sang some American songs and I joined in while we were in the cubicle. What fun! Then we posed. As you do.

After Crown we took the tram to the CBD. Nonku needed some gala clothes and our hidden stylist selves came out. If only we were in Hollywood we'd be so rich and famous! Nonku you need a bit of silver here and there...a bit shorter will do...that bust is amazing...hahaha...love these ladies!

But our first stop before the clothes shopping was at Tiffany and Co in Collins Street. I did not know it is Kaylynn's favourite shop ever! We looked through the glass and loved every item. Then on our way out, the lady asked if we have looked upstairs. We haven't, so off we went. I looked at the steps. I normally do not hobble up and down for anyone, or anything. But for Tiffany - yes please.

Waiting on top of the steps was this gorgeous staff greeting us warmly. We called him Gaston, because you know, he is french and all. But he is very nice unlike that Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. The staff were gorgeous. Our favourite is Jay. He was so gracious in letting us try the rings. I love yellow diamond but I like the baguettes more and it is only $57K.

I mean 'only' compared to the yellow one that costs over a million bucks! Kaylynn and Nicole looked for the biggest and most expensive one that they have heard of in a recent Sydney trip. They have connections and so they know what they were talking about. That item is currently in Japan for private viewing.

Wow. I thought viewing is only for the dead. Hahaha. My jokes are lame. :-(
I so want that $57K diamond ring! One day.

Kaylynn suggested we forked up the money then take turns wearing it. ROFL. Why not? But I am size 7 and I think they all wear size 4 or 5. ONE DAY.

We thought posing in their little couch area is way better than selling our kidneys to buy a diamond ring. Gaston took this pic. He's like a Greek god or sumthing. But he is French so maybe a French god if there ever is one.

Then off we went to try on clothes. First was H&M. Their colour at the moment is a cross between gelato and Xanadu. So pass. On to the next shops.

It was such an adventure, on our way out the GPO towards Myer, we saw a couple of men fighting. But not really. I can see the middle man is struggling to escape and the two restraining him. I thought it was a brother kind of fight or something. It turned out that it was a showdown of shoplifter and shop security. Ah city. You are so exciting.

A few promising dresses and then we saw this gorgeous light blue chiffony dress and we all gasped: Cinderella! So Nonku! But their smallest size is a bit big for Nonku. :-(
Target has none either. I hope she will find her dress before the gala on Saturday!

We walked our merry way to Melbourne Central Station through China Town's small alley ways. Then Crash Bang Yell. A truck just hit a taxi next to us! OMG. I continued walking while Kaylynn bravely walked to the middle of the road to look closer hahaha. Brave girl. It was after all China Town.

Aside for a push bike locked on a post lying down creating future crash bang yell - all was quiet on the way to the station.

I had such a great day. I had so much fun. Hope the girls did too. I can't wait to do it again.

I bought my favourite Taro Ice and sipped my way home.

One day Tiffany. I promise.
