♥ Date with Miss Katie

Last Friday Rich and I had a fantastic random date in the city. We parked at my work and took the tram around.

We saw a bit of the Friday fireworks but that was not the highlight of our date.

Last of the Friday Winter Fireworks is on August 29, 2014. Come one and all to the Docklands!

It was our awesome Southern Meal at Miss Katie's Crab Shack!

I first read of this place in one of the local paper's food guide. Something like "a place to watch out in Melbourne". I got intrigued with their Southern American Menu to offer Melbourne locals! Yay! We planned on going for awhile now but unfortunately Rich and my schedule do not always match so we only have our dinner dates closer to home. Miss Katie is kinda far but it is close to where I work. I pass by this place every time.😊

But this Friday night, I forgot something and I need to go back to work. Rich offered to drive me and I said "I will buy you dinner! Oh yeah! Let's go Miss Katie!"

Menu, baby...
Fried chicken and Waffles with real Canadian Maple syrup! They also have this tzaziki tasting little dipping saucy thingy. I love it!

The place has the look & feel of a small rustic seaside pub of N'orleans Love it. I like the lights or the lack of it. Love the newspaper table covers. Sustainable and environmentally friendly. They also provide you with a small mallet and a bib, just in case the crabs get messy! The cutlery are all made of thin kind of wood. Still disposable but oh so cute.

Miss Katie's Crab Shack is the place to be!

We had the crab boil, crunchy baby corn, fried chicken & waffles and icy raspberry fizzy drink!  Next time I'd order the corn bread to mop the juices of the crab boil and maybe ask for more maple syrup :-)

The food was just fantastic! We love 'em all. Do yourself a favour everyone and come on down!!!

238 Victoria Street, North Melbourne. Right next to the Queen Victoria Market.

We walked around before we went back home. We had to after all that feasting!
It was late and we worked all day but we're doing this again!

Thanks Miss Katie for our Date Night. It was the best. Now we do not have to travel to the south of the USA to sample this kind of meal!
