Are we there yet? Canberra |
Our main visit was for the Balloons Spectacular. Last year they had Darth Vader but not this year, instead they had Peg Leg Pete the Pirate Parrot ☺. He is too cute, he just crack me up! And not to forget the Sky Whale with all her Mammary glands! That made a few children shriek and a few adults giggle ☺

Sky Whale! She cracks me up big time hahaha :-) |
We were so excited to see the Hot Air Balloons, we got up so early. We were in the Old Parliament House, King Georges Park at 5:30 am! The balloons were not even set up yet! It was hilarious!
Rich checking his gear :) |
We were also lucky to get in the last night of Enlighten. It was beautiful, kind of like Melbourne's White Night minus the maddening crowd. Half-way it rained! I did not want to wear raincoat but Rich did, so have a guess who got soaked at 10 pm!

When I first visited The Parliament House about 15 years ago, they did not have strict security measures. We just breezed through and there seemed to be no one around. This time, we had to go through metal detectors and a few guards. I was stopped twice as I kept on pinging. Had to remove my boots (oh zips & studs, how could you!) then when I was through Rich told me that my bag had to be taken in 3x too. Hahaha, all I had there was my wallet, my iPhone, a few medicines & lollies and oh yeah, 2 plastic forks. I carry my own fork, don't you? :)

Our ever reliable Cruzy♥ waiting for us to finish our Museum run :) |
Rich and I love travelling together. We bond more when we are out and about. We have been to the US, Europe and Asia. This time, ACT seem to have enough to fill our long-weekend adventure. We toured around their usual Tourist spots and had lots of fun. I admire CBR's free parking! Except for our hotel parking - everywhere else is pro-bono! Museums, Galleries etc. all free. Take that Melby!
Happy Birthday Canberra, still looking flash for 101 years old! See you another time.♥
Thank you Lord for our safe travel and blessings.♥
